Francois Pierre-Louis

Francois Pierre-Louis is an Associate Professor, Ph.D., at Queens College in New York. He has worked as a community organizer in Haiti and the United States, served in the private cabinet of President Jean Bertrand Aristide in 1991, and as an advisor to Prime Minister Jacques Edouard Alexis in 2007-2008. He is the author of Haitians in New York City: Transnationalism and Hometown Associations. Professor Pierre-Louis has worked extensively on a program to build a higher educational system in Haiti sine the earthquake in 2010.
